Do you find your new managerial role difficult? Are you struggling to handle your workload as a new manager? Don’t worry, it’s normal to feel this way.
Luckily, there are some things you could do to make it easier for you:
- Don’t be afraid to delegate some projects to your team. This shows you trust them and helps them grow while freeing up your time to focus on more important work.
- Distinguish between tasks that only you as the manager should be doing, and those that can be delegated to your team.
- Set aside regular times in your agenda every week to work on your own tasks.
To reflect on the situation, ask yourself:
- What tasks are you still doing that your team could take over?
- How has becoming a manager changed your role, responsibilities, and what others expect of you?
